Annunciation just left a new 5-star review for Theology of the Ordinary on St. George Press(https://stgeorgepress.com).
Here's what they had to say:
Thank you so much for sharing Mother Siluana in these books. Her ability to distill the Philokalia, The Ladder, St. Gregory Palamas, and other major works of the Church and then apply them to the culture and mindset of the day is truly miraculous.
My heart “burns within me” when reading her Spirit filled words—they convict and reveal shortcomings and false idols, then assist in laying them aside to connect with and receive the God of Love Who awaits us. This book is the perfect successor to “God, Where is the Wound.”
Grig and Corina described her first book as “fireworks”—it definitely was a myriad of “light bulb” moments for me. This second book helps to slow down those realizations, sort of tracing the filament of the bulb as it illumines, and observes them in greater detail.
I think these books will become very important in the next stage of catechesis, especially for those who are past the honeymoon phase of their entry into the Church and seeking to understand how to increase the gift of the Holy Spirit given at Chrismation. Thank God, who is glorified in the council of His Saints!
